Essential Maternity Wear

Its really easy to go crazy when shopping for new clothes, especially when you have such a good excuse! "I'm pregnant, I need new clothes", now however true this is, when trying to keep the buying limited I have some great styling tips...

Maternity Staples

Buy your staple wardrobe pieces in a plain colour, I would recommend black, white or grey  :) I would suggest leggings, two t-shirts or long sleeve tops (depending on season), t-shirt dress (summer months), long sleeve dress (winter months) and a denim pair of jeans. If you can afford to I would suggest getting really good quality maternity wear, that wash well, are soft and grow with your bump. Mine are from Storq and H&M. I came across Storq on Instagram while looking for chic, simple maternity basics. They're made beautifully and are SO soft. The sizing is amazing and there is also room to grow, yay, so this means I only need to buy once during my pregnancy. All the items I got from there can also be worn postpartum!

This is one of my top tips, if you do want to do some retail therapy while pregnant, buy statement accessories and jewellery as you can wear after baby too and they can change an outfit instantly from day to night. 

Oversized Tops & Jackets

Its pretty on trend right now to wear oversized clothes, that boyfriend t-shirt look. So, while pregnant Ive brought & wore tops, jumpers and jackets that are a few sizes too big to layer up my staples, and change the look completely.
